Dana Alligood

Global Commercial Banking Market Executive in Southern California, Bank of America Merrill Lynch

Dana Alligood is a Senior Vice President and the Global Commercial Banking Market Executive for Southern California.  She leads a team of financial professionals in San Diego, Orange County, and the Inland Empire.  In this role, she is responsible for helping middle market companies achieve their financial goals by delivering the full breadth of Bank of America Merrill Lynch capabilities to middle market companies.  

Before becoming the Market Executive for Southern California, Dana was the Enterprise Compliance Executive and Chief Operating Officer for Global Compliance for Bank of America.  Areas of coverage included compliance for Global Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Business Banking, Global Technology and Operations Global Human Resources, Chief Financial Officer Group, Privacy, Regulation W, Basel and Third Party.

 

Jon Carder

Co-Founder & CEO, Empyr

Jon started his first company in his college dorm room at the age of 19, selling baby products on the internet. After selling his second company, ClientShop, for millions at the age of 26. It was in a small hut in Indonesia where he realized he wanted to continue developing his entrepreneurial skills and use them to impact the world in a positive way. Jon is now working on his fourth company, Empyr, a card linked offers platform that connects online consumers to offline commerce, a trillion dollar market. Empyr also provides a way for nonprofit organizations to raise money from their supporters when they make every day in-store purchases like eating out or buying groceries.

 

David M. Hubinger 

Former CEO, Nestle

David has over 35 years of high-level food and consumer products experience. During his 30 year Nestle career he held roles in Marketing, Sales, General Management and Executive Management including 2 international assignments in Switzerland and Australia.  He was the President of the Nestle’ Confections & Snacks Division, a $2Billion Sales, 2,000 employee division with profits in excess of $200million.  He improved EBITDA profit by 400 BPS in five years while creating strategic long-term platforms for growth and profitability in chocolate wafer technology, chocolate baking and kids sugar confectionary. 

 After Nestle he joined DPI Specialty Foods Company as President. DPI is the primary supplier of specialty grocery items to The Kroger Company nationwide. In 2015 he launched his own consulting firm concentrating on mid range food and consumer products companies. He has worked with several Private Equity firms as an operating consultant .He provides industry, customer, and consumer insights and develops effective strategies and tactics to drive growth and profitability.

Ashok Kamal 

Executive Director, Tech Coast Angels

Tech Coast Angels – San Diego, is one of the largest and most active angel investor groups in the country. As an angel investor, Ashok has invested in a diverse portfolio of companies, including Outsite, which is a network of co-living & co-working properties in beautiful places, and Grove Collaborative, Echo Labs, Winnie, First Access and Underground Cellar. Ashok’s latest venture, the School of Rap, is an online & offline program to empower youth through creative freestyle and inspiring messages.

Ashok’s career as a social entrepreneur includes co-founding companies in green business, online education and crowdfunding and he has experienced bootstrapping to profitability, raising venture capital and completing an acquisition. Ashok also led a youth development nonprofit, helped design Newsweek’s Green Rankings for socially responsible investors and started a progressive hip-hop record label in New York City.
