Our Board of Directors

As Executive Director for Athena San Diego, Amy Bergen oversees the organization’s operations, building and supporting its membership and ensuring that both members and sponsors alike experience and take advantage of all that Athena San Diego offers. Bergen comes to Athena from PRA Destination Management San Diego where she planned events for associations and corporations. The five years prior to that she spent working in hotel catering sales, yacht charter sales and event venue sales. Bergen is also an adjunct hospitality instructor at San Diego Mesa College. She earned her MS in Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of New Orleans and her BA degree from Louisiana State University. Bergen is actively involved in charitable organizations in San Diego. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors and for the LSU San Diego Alumni Association and has also been a volunteer for Mind Treasures.
