Ms. Adelson’s expertise is in managing the evolution of information technology and helping the companies use technical change for strategic advantage.
She is a Solution Architect at Sony Network Entertainment Inc which is extending the Playstation Network to all Sony devices. She is charged with cross-company integration of services with special emphasis on data governance for consumer facing applications. She also serves as an advisor to the Board of iChanneX.
Ms. Adelson spent eight years with Sony Electronics, most recently as Senior Vice President and CTO of Information Systems where she was responsible for Enterprise Architecture -- including application architecture, middleware and application integration, master data, data warehouse and business intelligence reporting applications, social networking applications/web2.0 and innovation within business systems. Her teams worked closely with Sony Electronics’ business units to integrate information systems platform assets with consumer electronics products.
Ms. Adelson joined Sony in 2001 as the CIO of its eSolutions Group, an e-commerce business division and was responsible for technical development and operations of sonystyle.com. In addition to e-Commerce she also managed the technical platform for digital photo services.
Her prior experience includes technology consulting on web-enabling businesses and developing the information systems that enabled Wall Street firms Morgan Stanley, Salomon Brothers, and Merrill Lynch to go into global markets; she resided in Tokyo for six months to deliver the systems for Salomon as it became the first non-Japanese firm to become a member of the Tokyo stock exchange.
Ms. Adelson graduated cum laude from Princeton University.
In addition to her involvement with Athena, Ms. Adelson is a mentor with Women Unlimited and with The Rady School at UCSD; she also volunteers as a Trail Patrol member for the SD County Department of Parks and Recreation and is active in the Ramona Trails Association, promoting non-motorized trail access development in the east county.
